What you need to obtain is a wireless bridge. You would need to configure it to connect to your neighbors wireless router. The bridge with have an ethernet jack on it and you will need to run a network patch cable from the ethernet jack on the bridge to the WAN jack on your wireless router. From there, you should be able to share the internet connection with your neighbor without having to configure your computers to connect to his router. You will only need to configre your bridge to do so.

EDIT: Actually, I understood your question completely which is why I suggested that what you need is an Ethernet Bridge. I understand that you have a wireless router, your neighbor has a wireless router, and you want to somehow link the two. I am not all that familar with dLink but my experience tell me that you will need a wireless Bridge. I am not aware of any router that can also act as a bridge. That's not to say someone doesn't make one. But with a Ethernet bridge, all you need to do is configure the bridge to communicate with your neighbor's wireless router without changing anything on your router (with the exception of your IP range if you use the same as your neighbor).

The first poster was correct, you don't need any new hardware.

Since you're already using a wireless network yourself, all you need is his network SSID, and encryption key (WEP or WPA) both of which he can provide.

Your computer needs to be physically within range of his router to get a signal- if you're too far away he'd have to install a wireless repeater to boost the range.

But assuming you're close enough- just plug in his SSID and key in your wirelesss setup, and you'll access his wireless network.

Can't do it David. You gotta connect your pcs to his wireless router. To do this you need his help. If it's a Linksys router he has, Linksys tech support has a slick method of setting up wireless pcs.

PS Linksys has great tech support. Cisco ain't #1 for nothing.
