separately for a couple of nights so I can catch up on my sleep?

I have insomnia as it is, and this certainly does not help!

And I like my own space.

Should I feel guilty?

Being the good man that he is, he took the futon in spare room, after I said I would sleep elsewhere. I feel bad though.

No its not wrong. If it is I am in trouble. I have the same problem. Everyonce in a while my husband will talk, steal the covers or even my side of the bed. I'm not worried about any health issues with him since his parents told me he has always done it. I do have a little fun with him everyonce in a while and carry on a conversation with him while he is asleep. He can come up with some pretty off the wall stuff when he is asleep. Just do what you have to do to get what you need even if it means sleeping seperately for a couple of nights. If you don't you will be irritable and go off on him for something he really can't control.

First of all, perhaps your finace should talk to his family doctor. There are plenty of non-addictive drugs which help people have a better sleep. It actually sounds as if both of you could use a good sleep aid. Have you both tried watching what you eat in the late afternoon to early evening and being careful of programs you watch just before bed, etc.? As far as stealing the covers, try putting two single sheets and blankets on the bed, that way when he grabs the blankets, he's not really pulling on yours. Good luck and God Bless.

There are better ways to hallucinate without sleep deprivation. Visions often occur in the intermediate stage of sleep and wakefulness. You could try to stay in the stage. Attempting to Lucid Dream guarantees visual and auditory illusions, so you should try that as well.

Aren't you the least bit concerned? I mean really, if he's experiencing hallucinations, warning bells should be ringing? In a relationship, 50/50 should be across the board - find out what the deeper issue is!

The separation should be more than a couple of nights. You need to find a sound-sleeper otherwise it will start to strain the relationship because you will be tired and it may effect your judgment.

I suggest he see a sleep specialist.

I have narcolepsy and my night is like that a lot. He should see a doctor.

But if I am having a bad night I am not mad if my wife boots me to the guest room.
