It definitely sounds like a city based on a Native American word. Some cities in upper New York sound similar such as Cheektowaga and Chautauqua. Other than that, I wish you good luck.
On second thought, there is Rancho Cucamonga in California. Could this be it?

There is a town in Georgia called Chickamauga, close to the border of TN. It was the location of a civil war battle.
