I eat the ferrel hogs and javalinas often, although the javalinas have a very gamey taste to them. They make good tamales. The hogs are great.

I would recommend cooking them well to get rid of any parasites that they may have picked up living in the wild, but otherwise they should be perfectly safe, even downright tasty to eat.

wild boar is pork.so cook til about 170 f and will be safe.
