.15 X 700 =105

Different ways to work out percentages:

700 x 15/100
= 700 x 0.15
=105

or

100% of 700 = 700
So 10% of 700 = 70 and therefore 5% must be 35
As you want 15% we add 10% (70) and 5% (35)
Answer = 105

Well 10% is 70 half of 70 is 35
70 + 35 =105
