my husband and I are just starting to think about getting pregnant and I have PCOS. I only have two symptoms, the cysts and the hormonal problems, and not having periods hardly at all. I am 24 and have an appt to have another ultrasound while I am on my period. The only reason I will be on my period is because the Dr. prescribed Loestrin for one month to reduce or eliminate a huge cyst on my ovary. So, has anyone else had the internal / wand ultrasound while on their period? Seems weird and gross. Just wondering! Thanks!

Yeah, I also had an ultrasound while on my period. I was on fertility meds (Clomid) and they wanted to check how a cyst on my ovary was doing. The cyst is supposed to shrink/pop while you are having your period - that's why the have to do the ultrasound at that time. They'll put a large super absorbant pad underneath you. It's really not that big of a deal.

I was super grossed out by the process, but I was willing to try anything at that point. I guess it's a pretty common thing and no one else in there was weirded out except me :)

Yes, and you can have that done while you are on your period and it is highly effective.
I had a large cyst and was still allowed to do the embryo transfer (I'm a surrogate mother)
Good luck to you.

I had an internal done when I was having a miscarriage. They just put this absorbant pad thing under you just in case of leakage.
