How can I get internet on my laptop ?

I have a small laptop and I want internet on it what I need to do?I have already another computer as well with internet !

You need a wireless router and a wireless PC card for your laptop IF your laptop is not already wirelessly capable.

Your modem plugs into the router. The router plugs into your other computer. Your laptop will connect to the router wirelessly.

connecting to the internet with a laptop is slightly harder than a desktop
although it shouldnt be,for some reason it is
you need to first look at your laptop and see if it has any of these 1)u.s.b ports 2)ethernet ports(or rj-45 slots) 3)a pcmcia slot(for network card
if you have any or all of these then you should have no problem connecting to the internet,you need to first get a wireless router unless you want to connect it directly with a ethernet or usb cable
then when you get a wireless router you need to then get either a pcmcia network card or a usb wireless device,either of these will connect your laptop to the wireless router and then to the internet
however some laptops have built in wifi capability,which basically means you can directly connect your laptop to the wireless router ,you should look in the laptops manual and see if it has wifi
then once you have all the correct hardware,then either run the appropriate software(that came with the device you are using)or use the windows"wireless network set up"utility and this will take you through it
finally make sure you note down the w.e.p key(wireless encrtption protocol),this is a number unique to your wireless router and stops unlawful use of your broadband bandwidth,this is very important,security is of the upmost inportance

if you want to connect it though cable (we call it ethernet cable)

you will need to have something called Switch or Router (they are almost the same in price so you better get Router)

if you want to connect it though Wireless ... just follow what is mentioned in the previous post

You need to state how connect to the Internet. So you have dialup or ADSL? is the ADSL Wireless?
