Me and my husband were trying to figure out the part of the movie when Jane is writting a letter "advertising" and then Odelle ask who she is writting to... and then it looks like she hides it in the incoming mail on the table? we are really confused because Miss Fairfax picks up the letter and says its from Mr Rochester can some one clear this up for us?

I wouldn't read too much into it. Maybe it just seemed like she put it in with all the other mails. Maybe it was a blooper that made it seem like Miss Fairfax picked up the same letter when really she meant to pick up another one. It does not really contribute to further development of the story.
I have already watched that movie two or three tims (I recorded it) and I only vaguely remmeber that part. I think what you are supposed to take away from the scene is the fact that Jane is hiding the fact that she plans to advertise and move away once Mr. Rochester gets married . Adelle would be too upset if she knew.
