I think that it really depends on the particular book/movie. For instance, I really like Lord of the Rings movies and the books, while I think that the Harry Potter books are slightly better than the movies, especially the more recent ones (don't let me start about how the last director BUTCHERED the Order of the Phoenix!). I haven't really read most of the other books-to-movies that my friends have very strong opinions of, but from talking to others I've found that it depends a lot on which you are exposed to first. I personally think that I would like the Narnia movies better than the books if I ever read them, but I have friends who hate how different the movies are from the books. Some changes to the books are permissible in the movies, simply because it's necessary to make a reasonably short film, but changes on the order of those in the last HP movie are, to me, unforgivable. The changes in the LotR movies were done in such a way that they weren't really noticeable unless you had memorized the books, with only a couple exceptions, and I think that the changes in the book scripts added to those movies rather than detracting from them. For a specific example from those movies, the new Warg scene in the Two Towers enhanced the personal relationships between the characters and added a good action scene in the middle of what would otherwise have been a rather slow-paced section of the movie.

Have you tried writing poetry, or different sayings that you come across that you like. Another thing you could do is make it into a scrap book for wallet sized pictures that you get from relatives and friends. You can use stickers to decorate it, and the lines will work great for writing something about the person that you remember or makes you laugh or a time you had fun together, etc.

if you just crafting, this is an idea for you, u can use it as a decorative piece by you table lamb in your besroom, and for the decoration you can get a peice of fabric that matches your bedroom color or a nice decorative gift paper, then cover that book, and add some accissories to it like sticking bids or u can buy sme craft material from ART shops and stick them on the book.
by the end you can put in the top of that book a nice pen matches the colors you used, it can look nice and in the same time it can be handy whenever you need it..
i did this thing and worked and my friends liked it alot

Make a grateful journal like Oprah introduced. Just list 5 things every day that you are grateful for without repeating any. It will really make a difference in how you see life. You will start seeing the smaller things that happen that you usually ignored.

My 7 year old daughter loves to make up stories. I record them in a blank book to give to her when she is older. I can't draw, but I leave a blank page or two in each story in case I have the chance to have it illustrated later.

Make a little scrapbook out of it for yourself or as a gift. You could use the lines to do your scrapebook journaling on.

Cover it and make an address book out of it - if it is small enought it could go in your purse

How long has it been since you made a flip book. That sounds like fun.

You could use it to keep stats from one of your hobbies, or as a workout book to check your progression.
