Stop the sexualization and objectification of women. Our current society places a higher premium on beautiful and sexy women than smart and successful ones. Too often, a woman's self-esteem is tied to whether or not men think she is attractive. I know many very smart, successful business women who get more upset over "bad hair days" than important meetings. because often no matter how smart you are, random people don't come up to you and say "WOW, that presentation was amazing" or "Damn, I don't know how you manage to get all of that done." But they are quick with the "WOW, you look really nice today."

So for many women, the only positive reinforcement they get is in their appearance, and therefore they focus on it.

It is also important for people to emotionally support their non-parent friends and co-workers. I have often found people expect me to "pick up the slack" for co-workers who have kids. Since "I don't have to rush home" I'm suppose to fill in for someone so they can take their kid to baseball practice. Recognize that the time of non-parents is JUST AS VALUABLE as that of parents. Just because I do not have kids, doesn't mean my time is not valuable to me. Often in a work culture, non-parents are second-class citizens.

Stop harping about kids. I don't need people telling me "Oh, I guess it's OK if you don't want to have kids." Well, gee, thanks for giving me permission not to get knocked up! Our society validates women through their children. And a woman that doesn't want kids is someone considered broken.

There's no such thing as an illegitimate child. Every human being is legitimate.

As for unwanted children or children born to teenage mothers...
There are a multitude of possible answers:
but they all boil down to this- society could do more for human suffering, education and preserving the environmnent and stop indulging in selfish, destructive and wasteful preoccupations such as hatred, gambling, intoxicants, self-interest & greed, and other frivolity.

Maybe the problem is with some taxpayers, who aren't willing to chip in a little more to help their fellow man.

Remove stigmatism from birth control. Make it cheap and easily available.

Educate parents that they are living in a fantasty world if they think their precious children will become fertile and interested in sex at 13 yet stay virgins until they are in their late 20s or early 30s which is when people tend to get married these days. It was fine for marriage to damn pre-marital sex when they were talking about 3 to 5 years of abstinence in teenagers - it is another ball of wax entirely to talk about roughly another 10 to 15 years of abstinence in adults.

If parents accept reality then they'll talk to their children about birth control and then the children won't feel bad about using it when they are old enough to want to.

There needs to be a clear message in communities that have unwanted pregnancies. The message needs to include (a) information on birth control and (b) what it's like to have a child.

The fact remains that too many people don't understand or reject birth control. Too much ignorance and misinformation out there.

Responsibility!

Every individual has to be responsible for his/her actions. Sex is meant to reproduce children - wanted or not. In these times, you would imagine that all people (except for little children) know this.

When we engage in sexual intercourse, we must expect babies to be conceived! We ought not to be free with our sexual favors and when we find ourselves pregnant suddenly decide that the baby is a 'problem'; is going to hold us back from our careers or our chances to make it big, etc. This is all a huge load of Bs!

Be responsible for our actions and all children will be 'wanted'. This really angers me! It is not the children who are illegitimate, it is our careless behavior.

Perhaps we should go back to the times of the Knights where women wore chasity belts.
The chasity belts would be required until the woman gets married - then the key would be given to the man from her parents.

Increase sexual education, both in the area of abstinence and not being pressured into sex AND on the topic of contraception.

Basically, educated people to realise that they should not have sex when they are not ready, and that when they are ready, they should make smart decisions.

Practice abstinance, celebacy and or birth control. Any human born is not illegitimate. He/she is a real person. Any life is precious.

Each person needs to learn to control his or her sex drive. We must realize that we are superior to animals in that we can choose to have sex and create children. That it is under our control.
