I'm 38 weeks pregnant, 3 cm dialated, 70% thinned out, and loss mucus plug this morning. I've been having contractions, but nothing to report on. They seem to be constant but not strong. Basically feels like menstral cramps. The past few days i've noticed that my appetite has dramatically dropped, from where i was eating constantly, to now where i'm only eating maybe one meal a day. Does this mean that Labor is in my "near" future??? I'm due March 7.

Loss Of Appetite Before Labor

The last 4 weeks of pregnancy bring new things to the table. One of them, in some woman may be loss of appetite. Not only is baby pressing up against your stomach already, the last few weeks, other things are going on that just make food not that appealing anymore. So it is normal for some woman. With my first 2 kids I just lost all focus on food I really didn't want much to do with it, and it seemed what I was eating was still enough. So don't worry if you think your not getting enough.
Some woman also get the runs, the last few weeks, it's your way your body it making room and cleaning everything out before birth. Some get more energenic by the last few weeks, others get more tired. It's different for everyone, but it's not un heard of.
Since your at 38 weeks, the average woman, (HA! Average but that's what they say) On average from the due date you can go either two weeks before or two weeks after, so that's a 4 weeks window there to keep in mind, but your on your way already. It can happen, in a day, since your already 3cm, the hospital will keep you when you hit 4cm, or even now if you go depends on their practice. It can happen in a week, but I think you'll go sooner than that since things have already begun. I'm just saying even with all the signs, some woman still have to wait a bit, while others don't. It's always a Estimate with pregnancy, the date, the weight, one true very long waiting game that by the time it gets down to it you want it over with. In a good way.

Good luck, Congrats! And hope you'll be holding your baby soon!

This book is a must read for any woman trying to get pregnant. I was devastated and so was my husband after being told by my fertility specialist at age 38 that I had no option but to consider adoption or donor eggs (according to my doctor I was out of eggs and gave me 4% chance of getting pregnant and a 2% chance of carrying a baby to full term). After much research and dozens of hours reading infertility related articles and posts online, I have found this book! I never believed in anything alternative to western medicine and thought all the other stuff like Chinese medicine was a hoax. But I was soon glad to be wrong as I followed step by step guidelines. After one month of trying I became pregnant and had a beautiful healthy boy. Nine months after that I did everything in the book again and after 2 months of trying I got pregnant again and gave birth to another perfect little boy. I would recommend anyone with an open mind to read this book. It just might be the answer to your prayers.

well of course you'll go into labor soon, you're due march 7....that baby will come when it's ready and only when it's ready. No woman in history has been pregnant forever, so just relax and let it happen. If you analyze it to death you'll drive yourself crazy. Labor is like a vice grip around your tummy, and there's no mistaking it for period cramps. it's far worse than that!

Well, I lost my mucus plug the night before I had my little girl. My contractions also felt like really bad menstrual cramps. Yes, my appetite also dropped a few days before I delivered. I think you will have your baby before March 7. Good luck. I wish you an easy and quick labor and a very healthy baby. It will be a moment you will treasure forever.

Well, you know that labor is most definitely in your future. lol
I never experienced a loss in appetite with my three pregnancies, but every woman is different. If you're only eating once a day, you need to call your doctor to let him/her know. I predict your baby will be born before March 7th........Congrats!!!

I lost my appitite about 2 weeks ago (I'm 35 weeks). So appitite is probablely not a sign of labor... but who knows? Good luck! Happy Birthing!

Well not really, you could just be losing appetite b/c there is little room left for food in your tummy.

You are 38 weeks though and you can have the baby any day

When it happens you'll know ! Believe me, you'll know
