I'm a female, and my friend who is a guy texts me all the time and sends me pictures of where he is and things like that. It's really nice. But then at school he never talks to me or even looks at me. I don't get it. What does it mean?

It means he likes you and is too chicken to talk to you in person. It may sound sweet, but guys who are too chicken to even approach you, don't know how to talk to you and if you have a relationship instead of talking about issues or things that make him mad, they will be too scared to say anything and will avoid you and stop talking to you. It will hurt your feelings and you will never be able to solve any of your relationship problems. In other words, you need a guy with the guts to talk to you in person.

Sounds to me that there's a couple of things going on here.

Part Une - The Jerry Maguire Syndrome
You know the kind...relies on others to feel good about himself and is afraid to be ALONE for 2 seconds. I think your boy gets away from his friends and needs a social dialog to preoccupy himself which is when he drops you a line. From your view it may seem like, "Wow, this guy made the effort to call me" but the reality is it's a "wham-bam-thank-you- mam" itinerary -- (in the future, watch out for these calls coming from drunk guys after the bars close).

Part Deux - A Serious Case of Possellitis
Young, hormonal high school boys are particularly prone to this "disease". They all must more or less think and act according to his "posse" to fit in. Stray from the pack and risk ridicule or even expulsion. Boys say things and act differently in a group than they would on their own. Never attempt to approach a boy infected with possellitis as he will display unfamiliar and slightly disturbing characteristics. The only known cure for possellitis is a sobering dose of maturity (comes in 5-10 years).

PS. I'm not buying this selective shyness that others are peddling. I've date a shy guy or two and the biggest hurdle is initiating the conversation. Once that was established, I never felt ignored, not once.

well it could mean that he is shy and that it is easier to text you than to actually talk to you... what i would do is send him a text asking him why he doesnt talk to you at school or even look at you trust me that could work , been down that road before

maybe he likes u and he is too shy to talk to you face to face. u might start a conversation urself and he will get used to it then.. sometimes its easier to say something in txts or emails than face to face..but in face it would mean much more...believe me :) good luck!
