Yes, but not through your milk if that is what you are asking. Chances are if you are sick, your baby might get sick. However I breast feed my little one and have been sick twice in four months, and she did not get sick at all. Just keep breast feeding, even if you are sick, it is the best thing for your baby. Wash your hands a lot.

It sounds like what you're asking is "will my baby catch my sickness through my breastmilk?" In which case, the answer is NO. Very few illnesses are transmittable through mother's milk, and those that are, are not likely to be causing common viral symptoms (some forms of hepatitis, HIV, mostly body-fluid transmittable STDs). You baby will undoubtedly be exposed to the germs by proximity to you and whoever exposed you in the first place; it's likely too late to do anything about it by the time either of you starts showing symptoms.
Your body, however, began producing massive amounts of antibodies in your milk as soon as it recognized exposure to the illness. There are more antibodies in your breastmilk than in your own bloodstream! This will often protect the baby from succumbing to the illness, or help ensure that baby only becomes mildly ill. Whatever you do, don't stop breastfeeding! You are helping your baby stay healthy with every feeding.
Best wishes; I hope you're feeling better soon!

yes, but as everyone else will most likely tell you they need to get sick in order to build up immunity to diseases and such. However when I have a sore throat or very high fever I wear a face mask while feeding in order to keep my child from getting whatever i have, most often a sore throat for me ends up to be strep and i don;t want my child to get that when they are an infant. Most people will tell you that a face mask is ridiculous, but I still do when I have a sore throat. The best thing for you to do is simply wash your hands frequently. Everything will turn out fine.
