Why do Conservatives talk about morals....?

althought it goes both ways, the question is about conservatives talking about morals and then using hateful speech. The answer is that many fanatical people hide behind their religion, or use it as a 'trump' card. They are what we call 'sunday christians' and only like to think about others one hour a week, when in church. There is a book out called "American Fascists" and it is all about the religious right perverting religion for the sake of politics. You never hear them talk about charity, or humility, or the poor...what the bible is full of. They cherry pick information to suit their agenda, and conveniently leave the rest out. I hope this answers the ACTUAL question.

It is hypocrisy. Im conservative and I dont do that, though. I believe neither in bigotry nor hatred toward people. I think hatred toward certain ideals is not wrong, but not toward the people who believe them. However, liberals are sometimes hypocrites too. The stereotypical open-minded Dems are many times not so open-minded on this forum, and will not let the facts get in the way of their stances on issues. I think both Cons and Libs can do a little better on the morality issue.

Same reason that liberals talk about freedom of speech but then blast anyone who does not agree with them.

Narrow mindedness on both sides. Play nice, kids, and this will be a lot more fun. Neither side is better or worse than the other - they just have different visions and priorities. Everyone wants what is best for all fo us.

To be fair, I must say that people on both sides can be hateful. However, it seems especially hypocritical for conservatives who claim to be Christian to behave in that manner.
