No, they are no better than Spy-bot. I've used Spy-bot ever since it came out, and have professionally evaluated the rest. Stick with Spy-bot, install McAfee anti-virus and Ad-aware. Learn where on your computer other entities, like porno sites, slip in and hide tracking cookies and learn to eliminate them. And be sure you have a good firewall - Microsoft's firewall has too many holes.

GunShow,

From what I've heard, AVG is no longer free.

PCWorld.com just put out a pretty good article on how to remove Spyware from your PC. In that article there's a few links to effective FREE spyware programs...(a couple right from Microsoft's website). Plus it has some great tips (which I've used before myself) on how to remove spyware manually. Here's a link to that article:

Good luck!

Spybot and AdAware are probably the two best, both are free, and you can get both at Download.com. The "samples" that you downloaded I wouldn't trust too much, as they are trying to get you to buy; besides which, a lot of these "sample" programs will
*gasp* lie about what the "find", and you may even find that they are INSTALLING spyware or adware. Follow these links:
