I've been driving a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant and it's about time to sell it but before i did that I wanted to get rid of the cigarette burns in my car. They are mostly on the inside of driver's side door. The upholstery is made of some type of cloth (Pretty standard type I guess). The burns are right around the handle and I'd like some help on this matter if anyone can. Thanks.

Use a propane torch to soften the plastic, then mold it into shape. Get your mother to sew something to cover it up. Mothers are helpful sometimes

Shouldn't have smoked in the car to begin with, i don't know of anything that fixes burns besides replacing the upholstery

Generally cigarettes burns will lower the resale value of your car when you return it to get another one, if your car smells like smoke it will also lower it substantially, now if you are selling it yourself i'd say screw it and let the next owner deal with it. If your taking it to a dealership your gonna spend a couple hundred bucks on having it cleaned and reupholstered or you can take a couple hundred bucks in depreciation.....

Re-upholster...
or there's always GUILT...

Guilt works like this: You explain how smoking helped alleviate the extreme discomfort of the chemotherapy... So, since you figured you only had 6 months to live, you went ahead and smoked - to alleviate the discomfort - while you were driving... but the weakness in your hands... because that's where the cancer had collected, caused you to lean the cigarette over too close to the door and burn it... on several occasions. And now that you've been told that you're going to live, you just want to sell your car, to help pay the medical expenses and...

Well, come to think of it, maybe you should just get it re-upholstered.
