Vespucci, Amerigo
Amerigo Vespucci (1454-1512) was an Italian explorer who sailed to the West Indies, discovered the mouth of the Amazon River in South America, and mapped the coast of eastern South America. He was the first person to realize that the Americas were separate from the continent of Asia. America is named for him

I hope that this is the best answer if it is correct!
thanks

It's believed to be Amerigo Vespucci although some historians think there are some doubts about Vespucci's credibility on claiming the discovery for himself.

That is a bullshit question because the first person was most likely whatever dude first crossed the Bering Strait land bridge, looked back, and was like "Whoa". Amerigo rediscovered something that had already been discovered.
