When viewed from Earth, a group of stars could be only a pattern or a constellation. In actual space however, the stars we see as grouped together are likely not very near one another. The big dipper is a familiar pattern of stars in the Northern Hemisphere, which is actually just part of the constellation Ursa Major. These stars are not that close to one another in space, however.
A house and a tree may be next to one another, as you see them looking out your window, but actually not very close to one another.
When stars are actually grouped together in space, this is usually refered to as a cluster, although there are many other organized formations, too.

A group of stars can be called a lot of things. However, if those three are your choices, then it is a star system. A star system is a small collection of stars that exert gravity on each other and cause each to orbit the other. A solar system has one star with planets orbiting it. Planets are not stars. A neutron star is a single entity. It is not a collection of celestial bodies.
