I keep my DVD's in a CD case, I have found that the edge not protected by the CD cover has worn down, but only on the back side. It looks like they are dirty or scratched. When the movie gets near to the end, they start to skip or they jest lock up. I want to clean them, but I don't want to damage them. In addition is it true that you can fix a DVD or CD by applying car wax to the information side? Help Please!!!

There are cheap, little hand-held cleaners you can buy, but they really don't help that much. I suggest taking it to a local library. i worked at a library for a couple years and we had a big, multi-thousand dollar DVD/CD cleaner that worked miracles. Really scratched discs came out as perfect as the day they were made. So try taking it to a library and asking if they have a cleaner and if they can clean it for you.
