The problem in the first place was that I don't ovulate and the Chlomid did make me ovulate ONCE of the many cycles I tried with it. I was on Chlomid (or the generic version) for about 2 years with no luck and my doctor just switched me to Letrozol hoping for better results but I just finished a round of it and I didn't ovulate

what gives?!?

The Letrozol (generic of Femara) is often given in place of the Clomid for women who have severe side effects from the Clomid. A very few women will respond to Letrozol when they didn't on clomid but the vast majority will either respond to both drugs or to neither. I'm in the same situation--I haven't responded well at all to the Clomid and have the option of trying letrozol which I probably won't ovulate with or moving on to injectables. The third option my RE gave me, which may work for you too, is to go on continuous birth control for 3 months and then try the Clomid 1 last time. Studies have shown that taking Clomid after an extended period of birth control increases the effectiveness of the Clomid for a couple of cycles. Good luck to you!

I took 4 rounds of Clomid and didn't ovulate at all. I was then switched to Letrozole and got pregnant that first cycle! I disagree with the person above, I have heard that women who don't respond to Clomid tend to respond to the Letrozole. Clomid and Letrozole help you ovulate, but the mechanisms by which they do it are different.

You're sure you didn't ovulate and you're not just ovulating a little late? I wouldn't give up yet....you might need to give it another cycle or two. Good luck!
