Me and my wife got into a fight the other day and we are trying to reconcile and the military is trying to keep us apart by issuing a no contact order for 30 days, we are both in the military and we both want to work it out and talk to one another but the military is being difficult and I was wondering if any one else out there has gone through something like this and what grounds do I have to stand on thanks

If you have a 30 day no contact order is because there must have been a Domestic Violence case and the MP's were involved.

The military doesn't force you to have one of those, the victim through ACS's Victim Advocacy ssuggest to the victim to file for a protective order. In you case, the victim must WITHDRAW the petition for a Protective order (assuming is a temporary one) and that's the end of it. Normally, you guys are ORDERED to go to Couple's counselling through Mental Health section of your Hospital on base.

If you guys already went to court (either Military or Civilian) and the Judge GRANTED a 30 day restraining order, then you are basically screwed and you have to comply. If there are battery charges againt you, the other party must withdraw the charges, If there are criminal charges againt you (assalt witha dealy weapon, attempted murder, child abuse etc) it's a CRIMINAL case and not a Family court case, therefore, you are im the hands of the law and the prosecuting authority is UCMJ or the prosecitor's office if off post. In this casem, you will have to get a lawyer and wait fr your court date.

Best wishes and best of luck

I thought people in the military were use to discipline, what is the big deal with waiting 30 days. Obviously they don't realize that you two love the drama of fighting and don't feel the love if someone is not yelling. Why should the military think this is strange, after all they are in the job of making wars (not peace)

Really this is a hard situation. Ask who the person that is in charge of you and see if they can get u assigned to the same place or somewhere near each other. But if that doesn't work then just hold it through and if you can't over come it then there wasn't as much love as you thought. Hope everything works.
