When it's dark, especially at night, I'm afraid... I mean, I'm not alone, like someone's around me, someone who wants to hurt me, something superficial.... What can I do...? It's getting worse lately... What's happening?

Why don't you try praying to your higher power for protection. I know there are Angels all around me that protect me so whenever I get nervous I pray.

I am not affraid of the dark, but I have a friend that is and she overcame her problem by getting a dog. Being alone makes thedark seem darker and lonely. By having the dog, she feels safer and her mind doesn't wander on the things that go bump in the dark. Other than this, you might want to get some therepy.

It's quite natural to be afraid of the darkness, but your the same way as me. If I read something scary on the Internet or something, it's on my mind all night, and then I have to turn on a nightlight or open my door. My word of advice, don't read anything scary before bedtime.

I was afraid of dark when i was kid and i still am... I can't even go to the toilette at night time... my fear became worse when some thief got in to my apartment at night time and put a knife on my throat... since then i am so afraid when it is dark... even when i go to the kitchen to get me glass of water i have to turn all the lights on in the house and lock all the doors b4 i go to bed... its better to think about nice things when you're afraid. i am trying but its not helping... i see that thief over and over again.. in my kitchen, in the living room... makes me scared to death :((

The imagination is truly the most powerful thing that we possess. When we allow it free reign, with no conscious limits, it can grow into a huge "monster". Most of our adult fears are like the childhood "boogieman", a conglomeration of sinister shadows that are void of reality. Our imaginations can be our best tool or our worst enemy.

maybe you are thinking too much. dun think too much. just be natural. and be yourself. dun always think that someone will always hurt you. if you always think like that then you will get paranoid.
