Ok well Im 17 and I just remebered a dream that I had when I was like 5 or so. Anyways, so I woke up in my room and went to my parents in the middle of the night and then when I opened the door all I saw was like golden butterflys or flapping things that where the color gold and that is all I could see, so I tried to walk to the bed but I couldn't reach it then finally they just disappear. What does this mean??

Butterfly in Native American mythology represents the four stages of life. Egg, larvae, chrysalis, and finally the adult Butterfly.
Perhaps your dream at the age of 5 was a message that you were about to move from one stage of life to another. The fact that your parents were a part of this dream is also very interesting. "Gold" is the color of wisdom so perhaps part of the message was that you would be receiving wisdom as you moved to this new stage from your parents. But, given that you were unable to reach them, perhaps the essential nature of your growth demanded that you do it solo. On your own.
Now you are 17 and you suddenly remember this dream. Again. Perhaps you are being told that you are about to move out of the chrysalis stage into adulthood. On you own, with your head up high, knowing that the road to personal wisdom is a path that you must traverse alone.
You will get there.
One more thing. If ever you have dreams about butterflies again, think to your current situation and ask yourself,
What stage is this event at? Once you know the answer to that question, you will be better able to guide it to a successful conclusion.
I hope this helps you!

The dream you had is personal, one thing can mean something for one person or a different thing to someone else. The fact that you called whatever was flying around your parents butterflies might as some people said represent a change. The fact that they are golden might mean wealth or wisdom. It is possible that when you were young you saw your parents as wealthy or wise and you wanted to be like them but you felt like something was separating you from them. As you grew older and changed, like butterflies, you realized that you can be like the way you saw your parents. Again this is just my interpretation. It sound like a really cool dream. Good luck ;)

Did your parents die at a young age?
Or maybe you stopped feeling loved by them at that age?
Usually the Golden Butterflies are messengers sent to prepare the pathway to heaven for those who are about to die...

Try freakydreams.com That works pretty well for dreams but it mostly just gives the definitions of symbols.
