Some months I did, was so depressed all day, that I usually cried myself to sleep in the middle of the day, was horrible! Worst thing if I was at work, the smallest things would set me off and once I started, couldn't stop. Hid in the bathroom a lot and as soon as you come out, people ask, have you've been crying?
Well, that set it off again and back into the bathroom I went.
It was really embarrassing if there was a meeting scheduled that day, didn't know where to turn my head, carried make up with
me all the time. Thank God it didn't happen every month. I can totally understand you. But I just waited and let it happen, if I knew it was coming I called in sick and stayed in bed until it went away.
My husband always asked did I do anything, why are you crying?
Drove me nuts until he finally got the message to just leave me alone, it'll pass.
My doctor does not believe in prescribing meds for things that are normal to happen, he just told me to relax and wait it out.

Hi!
Some people call it 'pre-menstrual syndrome' ~~~~and we do cry, woof and carry on ~~~ sometimes I am in pain, also ~~~ people should not be bewildered ~~~~ we are all grown-ups and we should be alert to the fact that a woman sometimes just does not feel on top of the world and that she needs a little TLC (tender loving care)~~~~please don't insult yourself by calling what you are going through as 'cry baby crap' -- it is what you are going through and that is normal ~~~I believe there are medicines that stabilize the condition ~~~ it is up to you, however, if you choose to take them or if you find other solutions, like herb-teas and the like ~~~~.sometimes it is just a lovely roast beef sandwich and some tea that will make you feel better and healthier ~~~~ periods are not easy ~~~ we are very non-chalant about it today, but in the past we were allowed a little more indulgence to take care of ourselves ....it should be that way again
Peace & Love

Yes, I am the same... I can cry for any reason... an advert with a happy ending will do it... or a song...either happy or sad.. and I get incredibly irritated...
I have just changed the pill I am on though so I am hoping that helps.. wont know for a while though.

I used to, but I have had a hysterectomy so it is all behind me now. I could cry for England, I remember once crying because some flowers had died in a vase, at the time I thought it was the saddest thing imaginable. I used to eat chocolate and it used to help, but it's no good for the weight

I do get quite emotional beforehand but what you are experiencing sounds quite extreme and seems to be effecting those close to you.
I would recommend taking evening primrose oil and sticking to a diet rich in fresh produce.
If this has no effect and you are still suffering I think you should visit your GP. studies have shown that fluoxitine (Prozac) is very effective in combating the symptoms of severe PMS.
Good luck. x

I get like that before, during and after. It really takes the pi55 because I cant stop myself. I cry at anything! I think the only thing to do is sit it out and wait for it to pass. Most of my friends are really understanding, but its a bit awkward with new boyfriends.

It is normal due to hormones. If it becomes severe and/or interferes w/your ability to function, some doctors will prescribe an antidepressant to take 5 days before your period. Some women find that helpful.
