so my ex and his best friend had an apartment together, they didnt sign a lease or anything so it wasnt in just anyones name, anyway my exs friend decided he wanted to move out to move in with his girl, he only gave my ex a days notice, well the day they had to move my son had a seizure and had to be rushed to the hospital, that was Saturday and we were up at the hospital until Monday, my ex had to have his mom and some other people go move his stuff because he was told they had until Monday. well no one ever did anything with the two cats (they were his friends cats) so monday night i told him that i would hold on to them but since i am pregnant someone needed to come and change the litter and all that. wel when he went to get them they were gone. and now they are pressing charges on my ex. his friend will not stand up and say they are his cats, if my ex gets one more misdemenor he has a felony. how can he prove that they arent his and he didnt abandon them, he went back. help!

plus like i said we were at the hospital so its not like he purposly left them there. he is taking the charge becuase his friend just doesnt care, how can i convince him to make his friend come out and say that they are his and not my ex'. his friend doesnt have a child he has to support so even if he doesnt go to jail i am sure he will still have a fine, which he cant afford, what would you do?

his friend needs to get some "guts" and state that the cats were his and that he had initially left him when he moved out

your ex was being responsible by finding the cats and thus, holding them for his old roomie

the roomie is the one who left them there in the first place----so, it is his "BAD"

I don't quite understand. Who is pressing charges? What is the charge? Abandonment? Seems a little to weird to be true.
