Great answers here! My husband asked me for a divorce a few years back so he could marry my best friend of 13 years. Of course the best thing to do is give the worms their divorce! In the mean time I bumped into The LOVE OF MY LIFE at a CVS. (we had dated a while back in '89) He too was in the middle of a divorce so his wife could marry her secret lover of 2 years. We leaned on each other for a couple of years through the dating (other people) thing and the confused kids syndrome. (he had 1 and I had 4 all boys) Eventually we realized it was us that should be dating and we got married 2 years ago and had a GIRL!!! The one thing no one mentions here is that after you sign the papers and have a party, you should probably get as far away from the ex as possible!! RUN FAR FAST they just don't go away. Even after the divorce they are a constant headache. If I knew then what I know now, I really would have moved much further away. Even with the kids...after the divorce they just get more demanding and controlling (or try to) So in a sense you already knew the answer! Leave town, party, and pick up..maybe not a stranger..but a friend!

give them the divorce, and never try to change their mind. as it just won't work out. keeping a person who doesn't want u only causes them to resent u, and your marriage will be just one endless suffering.
