Yes, they are. I think that we have a case of "Royal envy". We always look to the British for what is considered right & proper. We also look to the Royals (at least I do ) for fashion tips, I love the hats that Camilla & Eugenie & Beatrice have been wearing lately!

Because the British royal family is the most important, and best known in the US. Once in a while you'll hear about others...but it's rare. More often than not, you hear about what is happening in Monaco, since, you know, the mother of the current generation was American! (Grace Kelly) It's called selling magazines, but you'd think they would put more effort into the more attractive royals of the world, like the Danes and the Swedes.

American women follow them a lot more closely than men do. As for respected, I would have to get that a partial yes- I think the whole Diana/Charles scandal cost them some respect. But the outpouring when Diana passed away showed that a lot of Americans definately care about the UK Royals.

No they are not as well respected and known here by the general public. But they are followed very closely in the tabloids. A great deal of the American people seem to keep up with all the scandal and misfortunes the family are involved in. A lot of young girls here are in love with the princes.

Um I know the two princes and their father. I know what the Queen looks like, because of that new movie. I think Prince Charles has a brother, I think. That's about it. What do people in Britain think about the American Revolution or is that old news? I bet they teach it to us differently then they teach it over there.

I can't speak for the rest of America. But I don't care that much about them. I would like to see that Charlie guy become King because I have never seen or coronation in my lifetime. Plus being a prince at 55+ is just kind of sad. But other then that I don't really care.

They're popular with me. I have a good deal of respect for the monarchy. I don't really have an opinion on Charles though.
