My friend Kris is one of those ppl who are very hard to describe. (Think bad timing and extremly self- consious). Every time I see her, she always tells me how fat she feels and how she cant get a bf to save her life. As a friend. I suggested that if she felf so negatively about her body, she should go on a diet. She doesnt seem to care, cuz after shes done w/ all the popcorn and junk food she has the balls to complain even more. She constantly complains w/ the way she looks, yet does nothing to improve herself. Ohh...and the makeup...she piles it on and is CONVINCED that it looks really good on her. Its like she tries so hard to get a guy, but she cant. It seems like everytime that we have a conversation, all she talks about is herself. It is driving me up the wall. All my others friends and I tell her the truth. She keeps talking about herself over and over again and this is honestly wearing down my self-esteem as well as hers. Need desperate advice as to wat I should do...

Okay, depending on her age the diet may or may not have been a good suggestion. If she's still growing, she needs the food. But she should cut the junk food and stick to healthy food. Tell her that. Also, tell her that she does NOT need a guy to validate herself. Moving on....

Your friend seems, to put it bluntly, extremely self-centered. If you're telling her the truth and she is ignoring you, chances are she's complaining to get attention. Try changing the subject next time she starts talking about herself, and keep it on that. If she still resorts back to her favorite topic, you need to let her know you're tired of hearing about her. Hopefully, she'll listen, or she may get angry. It appears that she isn't really contributing to your friendship, just bringing you down. So if being honest means losing your friendship, count yourself lucky.

Maybe with the diet thing....if you offered to do it with her maybe she'll be more willing. I sounds like your friend would be able to handle the truth so tell her it. It may take a while for it to sink in but tell her the truth. HOWEVER don't make it too harsh.

The makeup thing....see if you can find someone to help her apply it so it doesn't look so bad...or you can find someone to teach her. I'm sure if you want you could help her to. If she doesn't want any help, then thats going to be her problem and there will be nothing you can do about it. But to save your own Self-esteem, try to ignore her. When ever she starts talking about herself. Just tell her to stop and change the subject

Good Luck :-)

Tell her she's good at "talking the talk" but not "walking the walk".

I'm a firm believer that you shouldn't complain about anything unless your planning to do something about it. It's such a waste of energy.

It's very important that for your own mental and physical health that you surround yourself with positive energy and positive people. Misery breeds company, and it will force you to take two steps back.

You must tell her that unless she turns her negatives into positives, that you must eliminate her from your life.

Offer your support to get her on the right path. Hopefully she'll turn it around.

well you should try one more time and just one to tell her to go on a diet and if she doesn't say you either need to go on a diet or I'm not your friend cause i cant deal with all this drama because you complain about you being fat we tell you to go on a diet but you don't then you eat allot of junk then complain again about you being fat.oh and about the make up tell her guys like make up nicely done unless they like are Gothic or witches.boy like it so they can barely see it but it still looks good.

i think you should just stop talking to her, or just tell her, if she doesnt like how she looks, go on a diet because trust me junk food isnt gonna make her thinner, and omg the make-up. no guy is gonna want a chubby chick with a crap load of make-up. just tell her straight up that if she want a bf sooo bad, she should put an effort to look a lil prettier *make-up is not gonna help* welll... good luck!! =]

Gradually stop talkin to her..eventually you'll get rid of her..just dont be available for her to whine and complain about watever to you..just be like you are busy and have to go and then be out..

Find another friend. Anyone this obsessed with themselves cannot find much time to be a friend to anyone.
