It's just the 1st and 2nd period of 45 minutes. You won't get any extra points for leading in half time.

Most football (soccer) mathes are played on a home and away basis. Those are the 2 legs. The aggregate of teh goals is taken and the winner is declared. If both teams have same number of goals on aggregate, then the away goals rule apply - which is the team that scored the most goals away from home wins. If it still remains the same, then there is extra time followed by penalties.

Eg: First leg is at team As home ground and Team A wins 2-1. Second leg is at Team B's home ground and Team B wins 1-0. The aggregate will be 2-2( Team A's 2 goals during the first leg and Team B's 1 goal in each leg). But Team B will win ere, as they scoed 1 goal on their away trip to Team A, while Team A didnt score any goals on their away trip.

Cheers

For example if Manchester United and Lyon are playing, the 1st leg would be at Old Trafford in Manchester.

The 2nd leg means that the Away team for the first match is now the home team. And the game is played at Lyon's Stadium

also there is a away goal rule, if the teams tie 3-3 on aggregate the team with more away goals will win

the 1st & 2nd leg used in major football competitions such as UEFA Champions' League & UEFA Cup to eliminate the possible of advantage granted by a certain team. each team which paired together will get to host one match. the team which scored the most goals (aggregate scores) over two matches will progress to the next stage.

if both teams are still level after the end of these two matches, the away goals rule will be the first tie-breaker. away goals means a goal scored by the visiting teams at the opponent's venue & it's considered as double. the team which scored more away goals will progress to the next round. if the scores are still level, the penalty shoot-outs will be used to decide the winner.

aggregate goals means the total goals count from teams that play each other twice, home & away. this is usually used in the knock-out stage of a competition, such as UEFA Champions' League or UEFA Cup. the team that score the most goals over two matches will progress to the next phase.

for example, here's the result of the 2005-2006 UEFA Champions' League knock-out stage:

1st match - Chelsea 1-2 FC Barcelona
2nd match - FC Barcelona 1-1 Chelsea

the above results shows FC Barcelona have scored 3 goals & Chelsea scored 2 goals in total over two matches between them. so FC Barcelona won 3-2 on aggregate & progress to the quarter-finals of the 2005-2006 UEFA Champions' League as FC Barcelona scored more goals than Chelsea.

here is another example from the 2005-2006 UEFA Champions' League knock-out stage:

1st match - Glasgow Rangers 2-2 Villareal SC
2nd match - Villareal SC 1-1 Glasgow Rangers

from the above, both teams has scored 3 goals over two matches but in some competitions, like the UEFA Champions' League, the away goal rules will be used to decide the outcome. away goal means any goal scored by the visiting team is consider as double. so, Villareal SC scored 2 away goals while Glasgow Rangers scored only 1 goal & Villareal SC progress on away goals rule.
