This is my opinion and some people may disagree but the only way is by teaching, promoting and modeling inclusion. I think that a lot of people get discouraged with the seeming resistance of students to accept certain information/education, but I am an optimist even after 20 years of teaching. One of the reasons is that I have seen many so called "delinquent" students who have later gone on to straighten their lives, change their moral/social outlook in life and yes, some even became very successful. So, I do believe that, even if it's a trite saying, that we HAVE TO sow the seeds even if not all of them germinate. If we don't then we can't logically expect miraculous results. I have always taught my students that a sign of intelligence is the ability to be able to interact/converse "intelligently" with and accept people of any social class, culture and appearance.
