I mean, like when the pyramids were built....and stonehenge....and all the other things that we accomplished by man.....that even today would be a technological challenge for us.

Do you think that, somehow, through the ages....technology has been lost?

Among all countries in the world, India has inherited
the largest number of ancient manuscripts from time
immemorial. They were written on the widest range of
subjects known to humans.

India had many ancient Sanskrit texts on aeronautics.
The Yantra Sarvaswa of Maharshi Bharadwaja, Vimaana
Chandrika of Maharshi Narayan, Vyoma Yaana Tantra of
Sounaka, and Vyoma Yaanarka of Dandi Natha are some of
them. They contained topics like Maargadhi Karana
(Navigation and control of speed during flight),
Lohaadhi Karana (alloys used for various components of
the aircraft) and Saktyaadhi Karana (production and
usage of various fuels used in aircrafts). Para Sabda
Grahakata is a subject of monitoring the flight tracks
of aircrafts, navigatory communication system, and
monitoring the conversation of the pilots in the
aircrafts. Maharshi Gouthama mentioned 32 models of
aircrafts used in Treta Yuga; only one model among
them, called Pushpaka Vimaanam, became popular in the
Ramayana. The Vaimaanika Sastra describes Tripura
Vimaanam that uses solar powered engine to travel at
three levels - on the land, under the surface of water,
and in the air. Sakuna Vimaanam is a cross between an
aircraft and a rocket - a space shuttle. The British
have robbed most of our Sanskrit manuscripts during
their rule in India. In 1895, Sivasankar Thalpad of
Bombay had constructed an aircraft with an engine which
flew to an altitude of 1500 feet. He was a Vedic
scholar and used to teach at the J.J. School of Arts.
He obtained the technology from some rare Sanskrit
manuscripts. He also wrote a book in Marathi named
Praacheena Vimaana Vidye Chaasodha. Lalaji Rayanji,
Maharaja of Baroda, was one of the many witnesses who
had seen the flying of that aircraft.

Dr.Roberto Pinotti, an Italian scientist, presented a
paper on 'Aeronautics in ancient India' at the World
Space Conference conducted at Bangalore. He told the
conference delegates that those aircrafts were similar
to modern jet-propelled aeroplanes. He agreed that they
represent the most complex and sophisticated designs.
Some of them used radars and imaging technology
instrumentation.

Off late, Indians are trying to utilise the technologies
given in the ancient Indian manuscripts.
The Birla Science Center at Hyderabad has produced some
alloys after studying some Hindu manuscripts like
"Vimaana Sastra" and "Amsu Bodhini". The alloys possess
some extra-ordinary properties which are unknown to the
western countries.

First of all, i want to mention that palaeoanthropological excavations at Petralona from the anthopologist Aris Poulianos found a Skull of Archantropus in Greece that dates 700.000 BC. The skull has been dated to be at least 700,000 years old by two German scientists, anthropologist E. Breitinger and palaeontologist O. Sickenberg. That skull was from an archanthropus and not from an ape. That explains that the history of the mankind is very old. Imagine that whatever we know so far is based on the scientific documents we have in our hands from the last 2000 to 3000 years. We don't know anything about the technology of our ancenstors before that era. The only way to approach it is to look through the mythology. For example, the Greek Mythology is a well hidden code of history that refers to significant historic events that occured before the golden era of the classic Greek civilization 600BC. The Mythology is not a fairytale. The etymology of the Greek word Mythology (Mythos and logos) means to transfer to others historic events with words (it was not written anywhere thats the reason that some versions contradict with others). The Greek Mythology refers to historic events that happened mainly in the Titatic period which ends close to the period of 6.000 B.C. The Theogony (The Birth of the Olympians Masters) is much older. The natural phenomena were always the same, however older civilizations (some of them were destroyed like the Atlants and the Lemourians) experienced major cataclysms. A mythology has recorded, not one but four different events of a deluge, (Ogugos (it was before 100.000BC), Dardanos aproximately 30.000BC, Deukalion (9650BC according to Plato , the destruction of Atlantis, his named is seen in the bible as Noa), and Kekrops (major eruption of Santorini's volcano- the desruction of Minoan civilization) compared to the majority that record one and Sumerian that mentions two.
Every mythology in the world says about great historic events that happened in the past, however the code they use may differ from culture to culture. At the moment the Greek mythology seems to be more accurate and more detailed. As far for the technology, mythology gives evidence about ancient lost technologies that were much more advanced than ours today. The decoding of the myths is very difficult and i know that some organizations spend a lot of money to discover their meaning. An example that i can give you is in the 'Organon', a book that was written by Aristotle and it has an encrypted code which some neo-philosophers/ researchers have decoded and they assume that the code refers to a spaceship of an ancient technology. I believe that we are still primitives in terms of the technology. Look around you we are still basing our transportation on the discovery and the advances of the wheel (cars. busses, trains). I guess that we will do better than that in the future before we destroy or poison our planet.

possibly.

check out the book 'blacklisted archeology,' in it details the possibility that evidence of a cyclical technological existence for humans has been overlooked purposefully.

but i also think that it's pretty silly for us to assume that those who came before us were stupid oafs. smart and clever people have existed througout the ages.

machinery has been discovered who's complexity and purpose is a complete mystery to us.

just because we don't fully understand how something was done does not mean that it couldn't be done.

just look at the gothic cathedrals that are all over europe. in most cases we don't know who built or designed these amazing structures - all done without the benefit of machinery to move stone around, or power tools to bind things together.

frankly, if all of the builders and architects of the world went away, we would be just as mystified by much of what surrounds us as we are by the pyramids or stonehenge.

only a very small percentage of humans really know how to make all of this stuff...

Yes, and although we have regained much, we are once again approaching the same crisis.

Back in BC times there was a great war in the middle east region. They launched nuclear weapons at each other and turned parts of the Gobi desert and others into patches of radioactive glass.

In India there is a persistant story about this, and about the first time they launched a nuclear weapon. After killing everyone in the rival city in an instant and turning their city into a glass monument, they stoned to death the scientists that invented the weapon, and then went on a rampage killing every scientist and scholar that they could find.

Hello Treefrog,

Yes. There has been many times in history when the information from a whole society has disappeared.

This is caused by suppressive people wanting to hold society back. The same still occurs now. A suppressive person stops everything because they fear if people get stronger they will be overwhelmed.

Yes, there was a period in world history that that happened. It's referred to as the Dark Ages or the Medieval times. It was due to xtianity's grip over free will and common sense. It lasted from about 300 ad till about 1700 ad.

Learning and education were discouraged and even punished. Ideas that did not fit into the church beliefs were punishable by death of the instigator.

yes, lost and then regained lost/regained eternal cycle, man does not evolve like a monkey he evolves and revolves around CHANGES in his technology and his relationship to his environment. man has been the optimal intelligent being from creation moment one and never has been without maximal comprehension of number , mathematics, geometry, and physics. of ancient man, his medicines worked , his sciences worked , his relationship with the universe was harmonious and were successful, if they were failures we would not have survived and us so called modern man would not be here.

we would be so much more advanced if it wasnt for the dark ages. the Dark ages is when the Church came along proclaimed everything to be the work of the devil, kept people down, and so technology was lost, not experemented, because it was thought to be devil or witch craft. I hate to say but the church as stunded out techonolgy growth.
