my breaks were replaced last year. i have had the pads checked and they are good. but sometimes when i apply my breaks they make a pulsating knocking sound. making it hard to stop and steer. this usually happens when making a turn or going down an incline. it does not happen every time i use my breaks, and has happened only when appling breaks while going at a slow speed.

You need to check your brake rotors. They probably have high areas on them and will need to be either turned (or cut to true them up) or replaced at which time you will probably need to replace your pads again.

Sounds like your rotors are either warped or not perfectly flat. have them resurfaced, and put new pads on.

A bent wheel rim will do this also. You won't notice the bad rim so much when it's on the back but it sure is noticeable on the front.
