In America the Yanks wiped out most of the indians then gave those left the vote when there were too few to matter.

Australia did the same to the Aborigines and New Zealand the Maoris. Was the boers mercy to the defeated Zulus their undoing?

Actually, the mistake was that the Zulus didn't kill enough Boors while they were at it.

The english were the ones doing the killing of the zulus in order to protect the Boers (just a bunch of farmers) due to the British interest in the area during the course of the scramble for Africa. This was due to the Uitlanders in the Transvaal who were basically miners exploiting the new found gold in the region on the Boers bealf. The Boers mistake was not, not killing enough Zulus-who by the way were defeated but moreover not granting Uitlander (European miners) the right to vote which subsequently provoked the second Boer war.

The discovery of diamonds and greed by Englishmen to share in great natural wealth defeated the Boers. If the Zulu people did anything to the 'Mercy Givers' that contributed to Boer ultimate loss of an African Empire it was the European induced sexual diseases. It is the scourge of Africa today. Its the main reason why old Boers are obliged to own condoms in-lieu-of great trek
waggons, weapons, and Whoopi Goldberg.

As far as my history books say, it was the English who tried to wipe out the Zulu nation, not the Boers. They were peace loving farming types in the main.
No I am glad they didn't kill Zulu's. They are a very proud nation, with their own culture. They are hard-working, and do not have chip on their shoulder's like so many other " tribes "

The Boers never killed any Zulus They came to mutual agreements with the few tribes that lived in South Africa at that time

No, taking on the British in two Anglo-Boer Wars and losing was part of their undoing. The other part was forcing apartheid on the whole nation.

The Boers invaded sovereign territory and dehumanized the inhabitants, this is a mistake because it left the burden of guilt, fear, anger and general psychosis for generations of people of both races. The invasion itself was a mistake
