My best friend and I are making plans to go to Jamaica in July. I've looked on the net for hotels, I prefer an all-inclusive. I'd like to stay somewhere nice but close to the party scene. I'm not interested in Hedo, not going there for the freak factor.....any suggestions? Ooh, I looked at the Rose Hill establishments and they all have an "under construction" disclaimer.

I think there's some good answers and suggestions from the others here, but in case you're needing to check out the facilities of the hotels in Jamaica and Montego Bay I've provided a link to you. Also one for the National Tourism Office of Jamaica.

The pictures will give you a lot of insight into what you are looking for. Good luck with your planning.

Check the Montego Bay area up at TripAdvisor.com and you can research every resort in the area. You can read the resort amenities, read trip reviews written by previous visitors to the resorts, view "candid traveler photos" that some of those visitors posted, and ask questions in the "forums" section.

You might consider asking yourself what it is you want in a resort. For example, do you want a fun resort or relaxation? Does cost matter? Also, what quality rating do you prefer? Some resorts cater to kids while others don't allow kids. Of course Hedonism is adults only, but others are age 14 and up. Do you want a nice beach or does that matter? These are just some of the questions you should ask yourself.

Answer these types of questions and then you can "dial in" the resort that is right for you by going to TripAdvisor.com.

Sunset beach and resort. I stayed there last year with my husband. Very nice, affordable! Family oriented though. Which might be ok since your not looking for the romantic scene!
