Birth Control Pill Question?

After popping my pill out, I placed it on my tongue and took a big gulp of water. But I feel like when I did I couldn't feel the pill in my mouth but I still swallowed the water anyway. Could the pill have gone anywhere else besides down my throat? Am I just being paranoid?

Unless you dropped your pill on the floor, there is no where else for it to go. The only other opening in the throat is the trachea which goes to the lungs. When you swallow the epiglottis flaps over and covers the trachea making sure that what you swallow goes into the esophagus and into the stomach. If the pill went into your trachea (air pipe) you would have choked and believe me, you would have known what happened!

You may be just a little paranoid. If you didn't find it anywhere on your clothes, on the floor, under something. You probably swallowed it. Chances are you did. They are small anyway, meaning it's easy to slide right on down your throat. If you didn't, missing one pill only won't cause you any trouble. You can call your doctor's office if it will make you feel better.

I think it just means you are a good pill swallower! If you didn't find it on the floor, then you probably swallowed it. Those darn things are so small anyway, I have dropped thousands before getting them to my mouth. Don't worry, I'm sure it's where it belongs.

Its happened to me before.. You just have to be careful with intercousre anyway. Wear a dome, that way you will be double protected. And then next month you can start again.

Unless you can spot it on your glass or the countertop, I think you're safe. Those things are so tiny, it probably just slid right down your throat.
