The only way to know 100 percent is giving birth and then seeing for yourself. But you are more than likely having a boy! Congratulations!

20 weeks is generally a pretty safe time to determine the baby's sex...Ultrasounds are never 100% though, even if they are done later!...but at 20 weeks you can be pretty sure that it's what they told you. At that point the genitals are developed enough for a trained technician to determine.
At 21.5 weeks even my husband and I could tell from looking at the sonogram that it was a girl...so at 20 weeks a highly trained technician will more than likely be correct!
Start buying blue and congrats!

Ultra sounds are never considered 100% right, but usually I believe, that boys are easier to see than a girl. I am pregnant with twin boys and it is VERY CLEAR! I have no doubt in my mind that they are any other gender... :) Sometimes the doctor can get a clear view and sometimes they can't and they make the best educated guess that they can. I would say that chances are that they are right, but sometimes you never know! :) If the doctor seemed pretty sure than I wouldn't doubt him, but if he/she says that they THINK it's a boy or it was kinda hard to tell, I wouldn't bet my money or anything.

No, you can't take that at 100% - the ultrasound will give you an indication of the sex but it's just not a guarantee. Engorged labia at that gestational age can look like a boy's scrotum.

Ultrasounds are pretty accurate, but I wouldn't say it is 100%.
They told a friend of mine that she was having a girl, to her surprise and all of that pink clothing later....she had a boy.

The technician should have told you wether or not he thought he was 100% right. Sometimes they think they are right, but depending on how the baby was positioned they may not be. I wouldn't go and buy all blue just in case.

No, they're not 100% guaranteeing that it's a boy. It just really really looks like one. Occasionally, you'll still hear of a big oops. The likelihood is in your favor- did they see specific... boy parts? When I had my u/s with my 2nd child, they could actually see her specific girl parts, not just lack of boy parts. Good luck.
