Hi, I have Norton Anti-Virus 2006 but it seems a Trojan may have got passed it and deleted my RAM. When purchased it had 1024 MB of RAM but when I view basic information on my computer it says I have 0.99 GB of RAM, Im not too sure if this is an equal amount but my 3.2 GHZ PC is going extremely slow and applications (particularly internet) stop responding.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Wipe the hard disk and load everything back on.

The RAM stick is still there if its still plugged in, and 1 gig is the same as 1004 mb so its still working.
So if your pc is slow theres another problem. Try running Ccleaner, use the Issues tool then the Cleaner. Then use Tools - Startup to stop some of your software loading on startup - leave Windows and your anti malware, but you don't need your office and everything else loading. If you want them just get them from the Start menu.

You need all these anti spyware programs;
http://www.ewido.net - AVG(Ewido) anti trojan.
http://www.safer-networking.org - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware. Use the Teatimer settings to protect Internet Explorer, and the Immuniser to stop malware getting on your pc.
Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.

Plus;
http://www.lavasoft.com - Ad-Aware SE Personal anti adware
Run these.
Remember to update and run them at least once a week.

Finally defragment your hard drive from Start - programs - accessories - system tools - disc defragmenter. Leave the pc while it runs, do it once a month in future.

0.99 GB of RAM is roughly about the same as 1024 MB of RAM,so your RAM hasn't disappeared,if you computer is running slowly it probably is infested with spyware, you can remove this spyware easily ( and freely ),download AD-AWARE from the computer active website
www.computeractive.co.uk
and remember to update the program before you run it, if you are still worried then you can always wipe your hard disk clean and re-install windows.

Use a memory manager. If you install this microscopic person in your computer he will be able to restore your lost RAM for you. Unfortunately these executive types have huge egos and will demand that you pay them with an absurd amount of RAM of their own, so I don't see how you could win, really.

Norton doesn't scan for Trojans. Try using AdAware and SpybotS&D, they remove trojans, or get an antitrojan program.

perhaps a pretend alarm? often times it selections up depended on issues and thinks they are viruses. AVG does that many times. i could say there's a a hundred-a million threat of the pony destroying your workstation!
