From the Post Office in Windermere to the Lake shore in Bowness it's 1 1/2 miles. A more pleasant walk would be to take the footpath on the right after passing St. John's Church. You then come to the shore road, turn left and follow the road to St. Martin's Church. It's all downhill from there.

The best way to find out is to use a route planner AAroute planner is quite good it will then show you the quickest way to go and you can print off a map.
