mine was macaroni with real chips (not frozen and made in a chip pan) and processed peas,or if we had been somewhere and my dad said we,ll get a chippy on way home my sister and i used to be delighted!!(especially if we got a big pickle)

Fish fingers with chips and peas was always my fav - although always had to get the chips counted out one by one cos if my brother had more i'd scream the house down......
Pea fritters are fab from the chippy - still get um now!!

Home made meat and potato pie with mushy peas that my mom has steeped overnight and added a bit of the meat from the ham shank to, beautiful.

My mum used to make a really nice beef cassarole, it would be slow cooking all day and when we get back from school, the smell would be through the whole house.
It was lovely.

'Posh tea' my mum used to do this once in a blue moon. We'd have loads of different sandwiches all cut into triangles like rich people have it and different kinds of cake and you could have as much as you wanted of anything.
(Years later mum told me that she only ever did it when she couldn't be bothered to cook! It always gave her a giggle to see us all impressed by 'rich peoples' sandwiches and a couple of Kipling cakes on plates!)

Linda McCartney Vegatarian Lasagne with chips! Could've happily had it everyday - don't eat it anymore, her products went right down hill after she died!

mine was real Chips (those frozen sort are vile ) with that mince out of a tin on poured over them .

favorite memories of lunch (tea) was with my father. he used to take me to a small luncheonette called DAVE'S. The gentleman there used to sing "I love my job, I love my job" all day every day.
I used to eat something called a texas tommy. it was a hotdog, split, with cheese in the split, and wrapped with bacon. VERY UNHEALTHY and I'd never eat that today, but I loved when my dad took me to daves.
