Contraception : deliberate prevention of conception or impregnation (Merriam-Webster)

A woman releases an unfertilized egg every month.

If it is murder to prevent conception or impregnation, every woman who refrains from having "physical relations" (Not sure what might get censored here, so I'm playing it safe) for the duration of a single menstrual cycle would be a murderer.

By not getting into bed with a man every night of her 'window of opportunity' she has deliberately prevented her egg from becoming fertilized. If contraception is murder, then she is a murderer.

Murder means that a death has occurred, either pre-meditated or otherwise. A life has been taken.

When contraception is used, life does not arise in the first place so thus there is no 'murder'.

In other words: Prevention of a possible life is not the same as the murder of a living thing.

Hence, contraception cannot be murder.

Some forms of contraception most definitely are murder as they are abortifacients. Natural contraception, based on the woman's menstrual cycle, is not murder. For clarification of this check out a website called Catholic Answers or a book called the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

If you killed a bunch of tadpoles would you consider it murder ?Albeit they are not from a human source but some people would consider if you killed a frog that it is murder well it could have been a prince..But to be serious killing things other than human beings is not officially murder

No it's not, but abortion is. Contraception prevents the start/growth of life, therefore it is not murder. Abortion terminates and life and therein lies the difference.
