Is ' boon ' negative and ' bane ' positive ? If so than my answer is ' boon '. I experienced the day when there were dial phones...now there are cell phones. I think cell phones have taken away, in part, the patience of people. Patience of waiting to contact someone...we are becoming an ' I want it now ' instant gratification society. Cell phones are good for emergency situations...letting a person know you are running late, etc. Yet, to always be able to contact a person has taken away that " Oh, I can't wait to see them...talk with them...hear their voice when I next see them " anticipation.

I think they are a bane in life. Forever ringing, people get mad at you when you don't answer, distracting drivers across the world...I remember the days when my grandparents took their home phone off the hook while eating dinner so as not to be interrupted. Nowadays, you can't go to a restaurant without someone's phone going off. They went from handy in an emergency to life-hampering in the blink of an eye.

According to me its a boon, I can be in touch with my family, friends and professional higher officials, peer groups and some of the sub-ordinates. It has increased my friends list. i can get some interview calls through cell phone. See each and everything has its own merits and demerits. Toomuch of anything is good for nothing so if we use it as our servant it will serve us better, if we treat it as our boss it will make us slave, that's it......

Both.
Boon because they have helped us to stay in touch with our loved ones. They are very useful in case of emergencies. Nowadays mobile have become all in one entertainment devices.
Bane because people have gotten addicted to them. Teenagers carry them as part of fashion. People can avoid anyone with reasons such as it was set to silent mode, network problems,low battery.etc. People even forget their manners while talking on their mobiles in places such as restaurants, libraries,hospitals,etc.

Depends upon how you use it.
if you use for necessity it is good.
but if you use it just for downloading and listening to songs it is absolutely unnecessary.
AND THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL...
if you talk on it while driving or crossing a road then ur playing with ur own life.
