I think that the U.S. is becoming more of a police state because we have too many foreigners coming into our country messing things by blowing stuff up like the twin towers for example and causing us to need more police protection so yes i do believe that one day we will be controlled by the police i just hope that i am not around to see it.

People who say this is becoming a police state have never lived in one so they are talking about abstract concepts. If you ever went to E. Germany or a communist country you would know a police state.
A true police state wouldn't allow anything like Yahoo Answers in the first place. But nobody who thinks that will listen to an opposing viewpoint anyway.

yes it is - the framework is there, by the time people realize what happened, it will be too late - BUT in all fairness, in the middle of every major war that the US has faught, we have turned into a police state just to have everything ease up in the years following the wars..

Yes, even from as early as the 60's. The trend slowed for a while but has picked back up again.
