By leaving a note I'm sure he will know that you are an honest person and would agree to an arrangement for you to pay the repair cost directly. A lot of people would have just driven off. Damage repair estimates can be obtained without notifying the insurance company but don't be surprised if it is more than you think. I didn't think liability insurance had a deductible..? You might agree to meet him at the body shop that will do the repairs and either pay for it or make arrangements..Worth a try...Good Luck...

There's no harm in asking him to let you pay for it. The insurance companies won't need to get involved. All he needs is to get a repair estimate from a body-shop.
I would suggest that you describe the damage to a different repair shop and ask them for a ball-park figure - just so you have a rough idea of whether or not the guy is giving you an honest answer!
The repair probably would cost less than 500... I assume you mean $US. I have got to have my front bumper replaced and that will only cost about £500 ($1000 approx), so a bit of touch up and respray will probably cost less than $500.

Wow I'm amazed and impressed! Yes being responsible and asking this person would it be OK to pay for the damages out of your own pocket if they are not to high is not only the right thing to do, but shows your truly concerned about doing the right thing!
I applaud your honesty, I wish more people would step up to the plate and take responsibility for there actions instead of just laying the blame and responsibility in someone Else's lap.
Take care and again way to go!

a reliable question to characteristic could be '' why has the FSA comfortable the policies and characteristic allowed the inventory industry to sell brief back?'' easily it does no longer be an ''interior government ploy to permit the faceless those that have been given away with trillions to purchase banks from under us at decreased inventory costing''. What we ought to consistently be doing is arresting and imprisoning those fraudsters. could desire to it incredibly is that there is as a substitute some very severe point collusion?.

I took someone's rear view mirror off once, and she let me pay for it out of pocket no problem. People who drive understand anyone not wanting to involve the insurance company whenever possible, so the guy should agree no problem.

As an auto body painter, 500 might be a low estimate. depending on the car, bumper, color....some bumpers have textures unpainted and painted that cant be refinished. if he will take the money, do it.

Well.. yes you are allowed to offer to pay for it out of your own pocket. if he is any normal person he wont mind how its paid for just so long as its paid and fixed... and im sure he would understand, any road user would wouldnt they? it will help your insurance premium next year as well when you come to renew it, and you will get to keep your no claims bonus. hope all goes well. :) x

sure.some people dont care,as long as they get their car fixed.if you both can settle it without getting the insurance and police involved, then its better.that way either insurance wouldnt go up and both people would be happy.

you never HAVE to use insurance, if it's small it's a good idea not to go thru them. That just adds a reason for them to raise your rates.
