In my family we had a tradition that the father bought his daughter pearls for her 16th birthday. It's a sweet tradition that has been carried through for generations. I realize that some teens now won't enjoy pearls, but years from now she will appreciate them. Mine was a necklace with small pearls that I still have and cherish to this day (30 years later). It's a timeless piece of jewelry. A giftcard or money is gone in a week and there is no sweet memory attached to it. Good Luck!

I really like Kimmi's answer. A beautiful string of pearls would be a wonderful, memorable, classic Sweet Sixteen gift. That is what we are planning for our daughter too, even though she is only 12 now.

A Charm bracelet, or another piece of nice jewelry would be great sweet 16 presents. It should be something she'll remember.

well some teens want a car but if that's not possible then just give her some money to buy what ever she wants and let her go out with some of her friends for dinner.

Let him know that spending the day with her, shopping for a gift, lunch at the restaurant of her choice, talking is one of the best gifts he can give.
