The drug you are talking about is called Clomid (clomiphene citrate is the generic). The side effects: headache, mood swings, hot flashes, decreased cervical fluid, and occassionally hyperstimulation of the ovaries. It is started at 50mgs (1 tablet) per day for 5 days early in the cycle--either days 3-7 or 5-9. It has been around for decades and is considered safe. The dose can be upped to a max of 250mg (5 tabs) per day for 5 days. After you take the meds you should expect to ovulate 5-14 days after the last pill. Take it at night to help reduce side effects.
