The tattoo storyline is to show his new correlation to Juliet. The Thai lady gave him a marking that said "He walks among us, but is not one of us" as The Sheriff said at the end. After seeing this, the Thai men beat him, thus the consequences that the woman mentioned. This tattoo is also symbolic of him on the island, because he is with The Others, but he is not one of them. Juliet is now also marked for what she did, so her and Jack now share a similar bond.

no one replaced into lifeless the entire time each and all of the stuff from the 1st 5 seasons and each and all of the island stuff of Season 6 replaced into real. The Sideways realm the place the airplane does not crash is their spirits after everybody died, however the implication is after Jack died human beings like Desmond and Claire lived complete lives without drama, yet they die at last like all and sundry do. The clips of the airplane wreckage on the tip credit have been finished via ABC, no longer the writers. they don't seem to be area of the tale. Widmore died in Ben's closet whilst he replaced into shot, no longer in the previous that. Widmore replaced into chief of the Others whilst they Purged DHARMA with the gasoline in 1992, the Others (Hostiles) hated DHARMA, who have been a team of scientists analyzing each and all of the unique issues bearing directly to the island, annoying it. DHARMA replaced into used interior the tale so stuff like time-return and forth, electromagnetism, polars bears, Miles' father, poisonous gasoline, the Hatch(Swan)/button, touch with the exterior international etc. would desire to al be worked into the storyline. And tutor how the Others are via getting the Purge.

The Thai lady told him that his definition in life was to be a great leader.. He is that on that island.. but why make a whole show out of him getting his tattoo? I'm also wondering where they're going to take this tv show.. There's still so many unanswered questions..

The girl who did the tattoo said that he was a leader.
The "sheriff" of the Others said "He walks among us, but he is not one of us" is the meaning of the tattoo.
Apparently, being marked is NOT a good thing. In China as well as the Lost island.

Oh, I'll be watching this question. I have no idea why it was such a big deal that Jack got that tattoo. That really confused me.

That Thai chick had said it was against her people to tattoo an outsider but Jack "made" her do it so he got the crap beat outta him. (That's what I gathered from it anyway.)

It wasn't just you lol....I liked how we saw the reason behind one of his tattoos but it was kind of weird and pointless I thought. I like the storyline of him with the Others...very interesting lol! :)

Yes it was a weird story line (but how lucky was that chick to get to make out with him so many times, jealous!)
About the tatoo though seriously, if you look at what it said "he walks among us though he's not one of us" it ties into him in a way joining the others. He walks among them but he's not one of them. Who knows anymore but that's what I got out of it.
