I take a kid to school every day, all I see is happy smiling young people joking or making arrangements for sport etc. I also noticed the man who wrote this garbage has a foreign name and I agree he probably envies the UK kids and the privileged life they lead. I am not saying all foreigners are envious but this one looks like a weirdo with a problem fitting into UK culture.
Look at my exerts from the report,” Deprivation is relative", the UK is the 4th richest country in the world so our "deprived" kids are better off than privileged kids elsewhere. "Material deprivation" is relative. "Relative poverty" is about the stupidest statement I have read because the kids have all they need and it is wrong to make them over privileged.

100,000 of them run away from home every year.
So some of them are very unhappy.
Whether a survey, on an unknown basis and method of measurement to you and I, is actually informative or accurate is debatable.
Happiness is relative you could ask them same question on another occasion and get a different answer.
Also is there a difference between 'satisfied' and happy in this context.
I would regard such surveys largely as individuals trying to justify why they get paid so much for wasting money.
If you want to help children have a happier childhood, go and help at a youth club, church youth group, cubs, Brownies, beavers, rainbows, scouts, guides, rangers or any one of the charities that work with homeless children etc.
Don't bother with surveys do something practical.

Survey results are mostly manipulated. It all depends on the sample surveyed.Do not believe in survey results. You can conduct a survey with a limited sample and prove that UK kids are happiest.

Yes. and they are not welcome in pubs either. No one in the UK wants brats anywhere near them, not in bars or eating establishments of any kind. No ball games in the park and their parents are both working 8 days a week to pay the debts.
Britain really SUX.

i read this too and apprently Dutch kids are the happiest.
But surveys are very difficult to get right they only survey a percentage of the population and i was a uk kid and i was always happy. i cant see how you can gauge the whole of england on a small percentage of the population asked and surely it changes from region to region too.

No I dont ,instead Ithink that the government most definately are. Instead of spending billions on iraq, afghanistan, trident etc etc. Why not spend it on our offspring. Do any of the countries who came top of the table, spend a fraction of what we seem to do, have any of our problems>?
