It's hard to say if they are getting better. Newcastle have been badly run by Shepherd and the Halls wasting lots of money on average players. Luque, Viana, Maric, Marcelino etc... the list goes on. I think stability is the key now and Roeder seems to be doing o.k so far. Still not sure he is the man for the job to take Newcastle to the level they should be at but then it's not the easiest job in football is it ? Poison chalice springs to mind even Mourinho would have his work cut out.

The biggest underachievers so far...what more can fans expect from the team who always seem to disappoint?? Is Roeder the right coach? Does the club need new ownership? They're not even in the FA Cup at this current time, and it doesn't seem they'll qualify for Europe either. Big ups to Reading, Bolton, and Everton. Shame on Newcastle. Shame.

they gone from title contenders to uefa cup battlers which they tend not to make anyway. the worst thing to ever happen to nufc was kevin keegan leaving. in my opinion they're not getting any better or worse, they're just staying the same mediocre, fairly predictable team they've been for the past 5 years
