Smoke gets in and on everything. Spray an air freshener that is known for killing odor at the source like Febreze Air or Oust or Ozium. Wash all your curtains and quilts and couch cushions and other fabrics that are exposed. For those that won't wash, use upholstery cleaner and Febreze fabric spray. You may need to repaint all your walls because that smoke absorbs into EVERYTHING.
I applaud you for taking the smokes outside with a baby in the house. Now you just need to quit!! Visit www.whyquit.com for inspiration.

Impossible. Unless you catch all the smoke in your hands and put it outside before it lands on the walls, you will have smoke smells and stains in your home. I say get a new bf that respects you enough to smoke outside. Seriously, that's not much to ask. I'm sure you make concessions for him, thats life. But he can't keep his deadly smoke outside? Forget about your home, think of your own health. The surgeon general just came out and said second hand smoke is very dangerous. I hope you don't have kids in the house that you allow him to poison. I don't mean that in a mean way, it's a fact. Get him to keep that outside.

There's no way to totally rid the smell except to repaint the walls, or at least wash them and to clean the upholstery or at least use Febreeze on furniture. Put a fan in the window to help move the air.

I would highly suggest if you do smoke keep it outside, you never get the smell of cigarettes out, unless you repaint all your walls, tear the carpet up and replace, mini blinds and look up at your ceilings, and those fans in the bathroom do nothing to help, and furniture as well.

EcoQuest makes an air purifier called Fresh Air that will effectively remove smoke odors. I have one and I love it. I bought it from Environmental Planning Solutions: www.webbwiz.com
They also let me try it in my home for a week before purchasing it...in that time the smoke odors completely dissapeared.

Cigarette/ cigar smoke is a most insidious invader! It sticks to everything. Beside cleaning all walls, windows, draperies/curtains, carpet and upholstered furniture be sure to replace your furnace filter. And when weather allows, air your home as often as possible. Good luck!
