click the fuse box that says main switch-turn off for 5 min and then turn back on. It just may need reset.
check the hose in the back, a sock may have got hung up in it.
be careful, dryers can be dangerous and fire hazard

I would first check to see if it is plugged in all the way. Second, check the fuse or circuit breaker. Third, check the belt that spins the tumbler. Fourth, see if the wires that connect to the power source on the dryer are connected properly. And sometimes a small piece of clothing like a child's sock or even an adult sock or handkerchief gets sucked out of the tumbler and wraps around the pulley that can jam the spinning.

How old is it, mine ran for eight years and then one morning it would not work burned out heating element, it was a whirlpool, got rid of it and bought a new G.E. works better than the whirlpool I paid more money for back then, but do check the basics first before you go out and buy a new, I needed it, and bought mine at Lowes and they hooked it up and took away the old one....

There is (or should be) a thermal cut off button on the motor itself. Often as not this is in series with the thermal drum cut-off switches, but not on all models. Run round these first and look for an open circuit on the drum cut-out-switches. take your time to search for power (voltage) at the consumer switch and see if volts are being set to the motor and the drum thermal switches.

power source. check the panel box to make sure breaker is on.It will be a double pole breaker (runs on 220 volts) possibly a 30 or 40 amp breaker.

There is a tab or fob sticking out near the door latch. Make sure it is pressed when you close the door.
